Really quiet and relaxing.... But, the so called zoo is in need of a complete overall. Animals seem ok however I have concerns for a small dog that is in with the 2 small ponies. wants to play and be loved..
I hope that he can be moved out of there and see a vet as he could be a great dog to play with any children that stay there.
Overall I recommend staying at Stone Village, and would happily stay again, just please love that little dog..

Also at one stage we attempted to make our 3 year old some pasta using the hobs in the room, but when it came down to it, the nozzle wouldn't even turn. We asked for help and it took 4 staff members to fix this. However when I say fix this, they scrapped away at it and basically forced the nozzle to turn and then said to us 'This is ok for you but when you leave will need replacing as bad'. Surely just move us to a room with a hob which works properly and safe!
My daughter celebrated her 3rd birthday here. I emailed Sofia 10 months prior asking if she wouldn't mind doing a little something to make it special for her. Sofia replied off course we will make a cake and get some balloons. I have attached a picture of the cake, presented with an actually chipped away candle inside so you can judge it for yourself, oh and no balloons, luckily brought my own.
Next my daughter wanted some icecream. We ordered it and they said they will bring it to us, what seemed 20-30 minutes later, still nothing so my partner want to enquire
We weren't shocked to see that the icecream had been done, but left on the side while they see to other things. My partner kicked abit of a fuss and she said to him 'Do you want me to put it back in the freezer for you', my partner replied with ' No, we would simply like some icecream for our daughter, which isn't melted'. She looked blankly at my partner and therefore he said 'forget it' and watched the girl throw the ice cream back in with the other icecream. Bare in mind it had been sitting in the heated kitchen for 30 minutes and handled by my partner and COVID19 precautions were suppose to be in place.
To be honest the list could go on and on. Another thing was they do have animals on the setting so we very excitedly booked horse riding. Little did we know, the horse would be tied to a fence and we were told we just do it ourselves, maybe fun to some but we had no clue what we were doing and infact horses can be dangerous etc.
We personally felt we wasn't in safe hands at all and very much left. We did actually meet Sofia and she tried to help us with our transfer, but by this point we felt deflated.
There was also a delay with our flights home and we were put up in a luxury hotel and in comparison felt very sad we wasted our time at Stone Village. More

We were booked to stay at Stone Village for 10 nights half board. We arrived late, (about 11pm) and were met at the front door by staff who kindly showed... read more us to our waiting room. As we walked through the archway of flowers and stone lit up by some beautiful lighting the place looked magical. Unfortunately the magic did not last any further than that. Upon getting to our room, (18, a 1 bedroom apartment) we were immediately disappointed. Firstly the whole place smelt of damp, stale air. It was also about 30 degrees in there. We were confronted by a down stairs area that contained a table and some chairs, 2 sofa beds, and a very old and tired looking kitchen. There was 1 window. We had turned the lights on but it seemed very dark and the kids (11 and 8 ) were both unhappy at the prospect of staying down there by themselves. At the back of this room was a wooden spiral staircase of which the top step was broken. This led to a small landing area, where a very tired looking bathroom was located. Then there was the bedroom, it was a very good size, but contained only a standard double bed, a wardrobe, and a desk. Nothing else. No chest of draws to store your folded clothes. The one air conditioning unit of the apartment was also located in this room, meaning that in order for the kids downstairs to get any cool air, we had to sleep with the door open and obviously it took all night for this to happen. With it being so late we just all retired to bed but I’ve got to tell you that the mattress was so hard that I might have well have slept on the wooden creaky floor. Next morning, and after getting up and having another look for somewhere to store the clothes upstairs or down I gave up. There was a knock on the door and our breakfast was waiting for us on the pretty patio outside the front door. We were all starving, but again soon to be disappointed. We were given a bag containing some boiled eggs, another containing some very plain slices of cake and another containing some fried dumplings. There was also 2 foil containers which contained cucumber and feta, and an omelette. Next to these were a jug containing a purple liquid which was horrible and another containing black coffee, there was also a container of fresh milk. Overall for us, it was not what we had expected. Next, undeterred we decided to get on our swimsuits and go and check out the beautiful looking pools. We arrived by the (main) pool which is the rectangular one and it was full of people. The 3 sun loungers there had all been taken, so we moved onto the second pool by the reception, this one had 6 sun loungers, again all taken (Stone Village has 32 rooms!) We put our belongings down on a table and chairs and went into the pool. Both pools are small, but we knew that from the pictures so we were prepared for that, what I wasn’t prepared for was that they had put so much bleach/chemical in them that it became cloudy, and you could not see the bottom. After a swim I sat on my chair listening to the defining sound of a staff member sucking up all of those fallen leaves and flower petals with an industrial leaf blower/sucker, this noise has now been going on for some 30 minutes and it was still going strong as there are lots of leaves to pick up! My wife and I decided to order some drinks, this is done by texting the owners via WhatsApp, as all of the bars are closed and you are not allowed into reception, all communication is done by this method. I asked for 4 coca colas, simple enough. A message came back a few minutes later confirming where we were and then some 10 minutes after that a worker appeared with some Lidl colas, no glasses with ice, no straws, just 4 bottles, I was told that this is all they have. This was to be the final straw. We decided that this beautiful place was not for us and decided to move hotels (at our own cost). Some of these points may come across as being trivial and maybe they are, but holidays are so important and we genuinely decided it was better for us to leave than try and stick it out. I would like to point out though that I spoke to a lovely guy who was leaving that day after staying at Stone Village for a week and he was wax lyrical about the place and had enjoyed himself greatly there. Each to their own I guess. Despite being half board we didn’t stay long enough for me to pass comment on dinner but again it was to be served to your room, not at all what we wanted or had originally booked but I understand that in these strange times, hotels have to adapt, but it wasn’t for us.

I am a huge animal lover and the other animals are kept in relatively good conditions although due to the heat here in Crete, I wouldn't have thought they should have a lot more shade and water, of which they had very little of both.
Maybe I'm just too caring as I know the hotel will have to be checked frequently by the authorities for the welfare standards of the animals.
As a dog owner, seeing Scruff in this poor state makes me feel sick to my stomach and I would love to take him home with me. He is such a loving dog with a lovely personality. I wish I could keep him. Adorable dog. Please don't keep him in a pony enclosure for much longer. He needs a lot of love and attention as he is desperate for it.
Overall the hotel is lovely but the conditions of the animals isn't what I would call adequate. More
