On the positive side it is a lovely location in the hills near Bali - short walk from Stone Village. The setting and grounds are wonderful.

A wonder 7 days at Stone Village, friendly staff, great accommodation. my only negative comment is that the pictures on the website do not give you a good perception... read more of space, we had a room within our cottage with bunk beds and we could just fit a person in never mind the cases required for a week. but aside from that I cannot fault this wonderful place.

A very warm hosting, a magnificent site, a cosy room/apartment, quiet and well-decorated. The localisation is a bonus, near to the superb city of Bali and not to far to... read more Rethymno (a place to do!)

When we stripped the beds the mattress was mouldy and grubby. We had to sleep on the floor that night. This was not good as I suffer from arthritis. We were told the matter would be dealt with in the morning.Morning came nobody here yet.went to the office, spoke to Sophie, she didn't know anything about it.poor communication. We we're offered another room, not happy with it due to location, overlooked by everybody. No apology yet at this point. We we're very disappointed with!..Customer service, they didn't have a clue.We made a decision to leave.Sophies best offer of condolence was to give us our money back for the two days we left early,no offer of any other compensation for all our inconveniences to date.I had to stand and argue my point for some time because she couldn't make a decision until she spoke to her father, who was on holiday in Athens. Why put her in charge and can't make any decisions. My point is she just couldn't see our upset and point i was making. In conclusion, eventually we were given 260 euro to pay for alternative accommodation at another hotel, which we had to go looking for our Selves, half our day was gone and our plans for that day ruined. The money was given half heartedly from her handbag, with a begrudging "thanks".Not professional guys, get your act sorted out, this is not the way to treat guests.Your hospitality skills are none existance. We were planning on coming back next year but that's not going to happen.I cannot recommend this resort! Infact we got so fed up of the food, we tried it for 2 days and folked out the rest of our money on meals elsewhere, not ideal considering we paid for half board. Also at one stage we attempted to make our 3 year old some pasta using the hobs in the room, but when it came down to it, the nozzle wouldn't even turn. We asked for help and it took 4 staff members to fix this. However when I say fix this, they scrapped away at it and basically forced the nozzle to turn and then said to us 'This is ok for you but when you leave will need replacing as bad'. Surely just move us to a room with a hob which works properly and safe!
My daughter celebrated her 3rd birthday here. I emailed Sofia 10 months prior asking if she wouldn't mind doing a little something to make it special for her. Sofia replied off course we will make a cake and get some balloons. I have attached a picture of the cake, presented with an actually chipped away candle inside so you can judge it for yourself, oh and no balloons, luckily brought my own.
Next my daughter wanted some icecream. We ordered it and they said they will bring it to us, what seemed 20-30 minutes later, still nothing so my partner want to enquire
We weren't shocked to see that the icecream had been done, but left on the side while they see to other things. My partner kicked abit of a fuss and she said to him 'Do you want me to put it back in the freezer for you', my partner replied with ' No, we would simply like some icecream for our daughter, which isn't melted'. She looked blankly at my partner and therefore he said 'forget it' and watched the girl throw the ice cream back in with the other icecream. Bare in mind it had been sitting in the heated kitchen for 30 minutes and handled by my partner and COVID19 precautions were suppose to be in place.
To be honest the list could go on and on. Another thing was they do have animals on the setting so we very excitedly booked horse riding. Little did we know, the horse would be tied to a fence and we were told we just do it ourselves, maybe fun to some but we had no clue what we were doing and infact horses can be dangerous etc.
We personally felt we wasn't in safe hands at all and very much left. We did actually meet Sofia and she tried to help us with our transfer, but by this point we felt deflated.
There was also a delay with our flights home and we were put up in a luxury hotel and in comparison felt very sad we wasted our time at Stone Village. More
